“Being a child before the advent of Xbox etc,” Phil’s entertainment was a sketch- book, a good range of pencils and a walk through the countryside sketching whatever nature threw his way.
He is self taught, and then lost in the medley of growing up, gaining a family, he stopped painting. Then at forty, Phil returned to his passion, painting inspiration being the landscape around him.
Such a rich palette of colour, great texture and forever giving.
Every sunrise, sunset, crashing wave, fluffy cloud, rugged mountain are all magnificent, and he suddenly realised that painting this great window we have been given could give him a perspective on what life is really about.
Phil very much experimenting at the moment to find a style that he is happy with, but the creative journey of getting there is something he’d like to share.
